Located on the Vicenza hills and designed starting from the characteristics of the place, Fumjnanti House has large transparent openings while the compact volumes of the entrance front guarantee opacity and privacy towards the access road. A large porch connects the exterior with the interior passing through borderless windows with perfect continuity between the interior and exterior floor.

“Architecture must not only protect against atmospheric events, but must also capture the poetry of the place and make it available to the family who live there ” declared architect Alberto Stocco of Studio 67, who oversaw and supervised all the works. Mitsubishi Electric instead took care of the air conditioning of the building.

Despite the large glazed surfaces, the building is of a heavy type, with a very high masonry mass able to give excellent comfort to the occupants.

The window frames, combined with the characteristics of thermal transmittance, solar factor and light transmission, also protecting the rooms from the summer overheating of the interior.

Low environmental impact air conditioning
A Mitsubishi Electric Ecodan heat pump with Hydrobox was chosen for heating in the winter months, cooling in the summer and the production of domestic hot water throughout the year . In this way it is possible to avoid resorting to the use of fossil fuels or wood fuels. The domestic hot water for the needs of five occupants is produced by a plate exchanger by exploiting the specific heat of the water stored by the heat pump.

The photovoltaic system contributes to the maintenance of the building and communicates with the heat pump, heating the accumulation more in the event of greater renewable electricity production. The same concept is adopted for indoor environments, whose materials act as a buffer battery for energy storage.
The controlled mechanical ventilation system also guarantees a healthy environment for the occupants with high energy efficiency during all seasons of the year.
